The PetSafe Wireless Containment System PIF-300
requires no buried wires like conventional containment
systems, making it ideal for persons who travel or relocate
frequently. Petsafe Wireless Fences use a centrally-located
transmitter which is installed indoors to send a circular
radio signal through the walls of the house and outside into
the lawn. Installation time from box to a fully-functioning
system is typically less than 30 minutes! The radius of the
circular containment area is adjustable from 5 feet up to a
maximum of 90 feet from the transmitter. Additional
Petsafe Wireless Containment System Transmitters may be purchased
to create a separate containment area, or overlap two or
more transmitters
to create a larger containment area.
As the dog approaches the boundary of the circular pattern,
the collar will beep to warn the pet. If it continues to
approach the boundary, the collar will administer a correction
to the pet. If your pet leaves the containment field, he will
receive a correction for 27 seconds or until he returns to the
containment area. Wireless Containment Systems Receivers allow you
to choose from 6 levels of correction strength [1 (low) to
5 (high) plus beep only mode] to match the Receivers to each
pet's temperament. In the event
of a power failure, the collar is designed to recognize
the
signal
deterioration
as a power
failure and will not administer a correction.
